Ojol Presidential Regulation Delayed Again as Drivers' Group Questions DPR Authority

The issuance of a presidential regulation governing online motorcycle taxi services has again been delayed, extending a period of regulatory uncertainty for the sector. Drivers and industry stakeholders had anticipated a decision, but no final text has yet been released by the government.

The drivers' association ASDM has publicly questioned the authority of the House of Representatives over the regulation. The group argues that the process risks blurring the constitutional authority of the president to issue such rules.

ASDM warned that presidential authority should not be undermined or made ambiguous by competing institutional claims. The association called for clarity so that the legal standing of online motorcycle taxi drivers can be properly secured.
